Exchange 2013 Public Folder Mailbox Move Takes Down All Public Folders

While moving a Public Folder (one folder that's two deep under the top level) I noticed a warning in the Exchange Admin Center (EAC) that Public Folders were unavailable. This was not a Public Folder Migration, just moving the folder to another mailbox within the same Exchange 2013 organization. I thought "sure there should be an error, for the one I'm moving"...not so; that one folder move took down ALL Public Folders.

So, just a warning, do not move Public Folders during business hours, even intraorg moves from one PF mailbox to another.

What makes matters worse, is according to the MS TechNet article, Public Folders should be available during the move, just like User Mailbox moves...nope!

MS TechNet PF Moves

Here's the EAC Error:

EAC PF Move Error

And here's Outlook which by the way, the PF that is open and unavailable ISN'T the one being moved:

Outlook PF Move Error
